Sun Temple, Modhera, Gujarat
The Umiya Mata temple in Unjha, Gujarat. Thousands of people visit the holy Goddess each day, for her blessings.
The temple is believed to be over 1200 years old, although the present structure is said to have been constructed a century ago. Umiya Mata is believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Parvati.
Not to forget, Unjha is also famous for its spices, cumin seeds being the most popular of them all. The fragrance of cumin, or jeera as it commonly known in India, fills up your senses even as you enter the town from the National Highway.
Even as my phone suggests the weather to be 'dreary' , here is some sunshine peaking from behind the clouds. Technology vs weather?
Even as the sun sets, the spirit of the kites only seems to soar. Uttarayan is a festival which sees celebrations well into the midnight and the skyline is filled with kites.
